Chaincode on Russia and Ukraine Crisis

Apr 5th 2022 | 04:08 | 3 min read

Russia had invaded and subsequently annexed the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine in 2014. Throughout 2021 and 2022, the Russian military buildup on the border of Ukraine has escalated tensions between the two countries and strained bilateral relations.

Recently, Russia’s long-feared “full-scale invasion” of Ukraine was seen, after it was announced in a televised address that Vladimir Putin will have a “Special Military Operation”. This war-like situation has prompted many Ukrainians and Indians to form queues at supermarkets, ATMs, and petrol stations.

ChainCodians Hope For Peace

The team at Chaincode got hold of data that read that Indians make up 24 percent (nearly 20,000) of international students in Ukraine. Now, many of these students are stranded in the war zone. Thus, Chaincoders globally are unified in a hope that peace is quickly restored. We are praying that all the students who are stranded in the war zone return back safely and peacefully to their respective countries. We commend world leaders who have acted quickly and decisively in hopes of expediting an end to this crisis. Also, Chaincoders unanimously pray for the souls lost in Ukraine.

ChainCode is worried about the future of Indian students as what awaits them on the education front yet remains unanswered for many students returning from the war-torn region. We highly appreciate and support the views of a child rights activist – Anubha Shrivastava Sahai – who plans to request the Central government to enable the students to pursue their remaining degrees in Indian colleges, if they pass a certain set of criteria.

ChainCode Opens New Doors For The Students!!

Our EHR on blockchain projects also needs domain knowledge from doctors and health professionals. Thus we plan to hire medical students and health professionals who are back from Ukraine and get them working for us on various projects.

ChainCodians Expressing Concern Over Russia’s Strategy To Put Detonate Forces On Standby

The team at Chaincode requested to float a message that it doesn’t favor Russia’s strategy to put special detonate forces on standby, as the extreme destruction caused by the nuclear weapons cannot just limit to the military targets. Nuclear attacks have long-term health consequences such as cancer or genetic damage, which is impossible to reverse.

The Chaincoders request all Indian nationals to remain patient, composed and refrain from exhibiting any anti-national behavior at the railway stations and have complete faith in the efforts taken by our government.

The team at Chaincode came together to pray for peace. The Chaincoders are very concerned about the Indians settled in Ukraine and have come forward to offer help. We encourage all of them to make donations to the International Red Cross.
